Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her mother and father were both English. She was raised on a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. She went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. She was on stage in numerous productions during her time at school including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making appearances as a guest for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following that she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie as well as six episodes of Flipside. Also, the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe starred in the Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on her drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes prior to being removed from The CW. In February 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the two previous seasons, had decided to quit the show after a guest-appearance in the premiere episode of the new season. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem as Tituba. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl They have also collaborated together on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by the large family. Her parents were Patty and Roy Leggat. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty as well as four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's sports brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months as well as hockey in winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. When she was two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley was captivated by dance at this age. When she was in High School, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. In addition, she won the top awards for soloists in every important dance competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
